Literature Text
Nature gave birth to demons
And demons grew into us
Not like evolution
But a parasite of lust
You must see that we're waning
Pretty soon we'll return to the dust
So in the short time we've remaining
We must learn to love & trust
Nature doesn't care for us
She really is so cruel
Yet the worse thing is the evil
Who above us seek to rule
They will make you feel life's worthless
They will cause you to feel like a fool
The only hope that we have is
To keep on with love our fuel
Nature is half the picture
She's the warp there's also weft
So when she leaves you a little short handed
Just reach backwards and claim what's left
All existence has duality
Just reach deep in through the cleft
Sometimes you no choice but to take
Even the gods are guilty of theft
Nature needs us to work with her
She can't do it on her own
So listen to her rhythm
And try to join your tone
Give love with all your sinew
Your tissue and your bone
It's way past time we rose up
To claim our exalted throne
And demons grew into us
Not like evolution
But a parasite of lust
You must see that we're waning
Pretty soon we'll return to the dust
So in the short time we've remaining
We must learn to love & trust

Shut Up (Mar. 2018)
Shut Up!
It is what I hear
People glare
When I speak.
I interrupt.
I babble.
I talk too much.
Shut Up!
Hurts too much
Stabbing pain
Shouts in my mind
Pain of words.

I fell in love through a thin sheet of glass
Scraping my skin on the shards as it shattered.
And I fell asleep reaching for your hands
Dreaming of unwritten notes and dial tones.
I thought it would taste like pink lemonade,
But the way I say your name is metallic.
I thought you would be a way to escape,
But my wires got crossed and I became lost.
You're just chasing residual noise
And I'm losing my digital voice.

The Banker Man Don't See
Long nights ahead of me
Even longer days
He works two jobs and I try to help
We do whatever it takes
But it ain't enough
It's not nearly enough
No the Banker man don't see
The Calluses on his hands
He don't see the tears I cry
no, he don't understand
we're doing everything we can
just to make it through the week
But that's just a couple things
Yea that's just the little things
The Banker Man don't see
